Poor baby

I took Ethan in for his 6 month appointment and found out that he only gain 4 oz. in two months. Not good. :( Both the pediatrician and the lactation specialist told me that I should stop nursing and feed Ethan bottles and baby food. He needs to increase his calorie intake by 10% for the next month and then we will see how much he gains and see if we need to try something else. He is such a happy kid that you would never know that he is starving. I guess I should have figured something was up when he still wears 0-3 month clothes. :) Bad mom!

I wouldn't worry too much about it, he's probably not starving! Maren was always in the bottom 15% for her weight. She still has days where she eats everything in the house, and the next day I can't even shove candy down her throat! Kids are crazy, huh??

Some babies are small. If he's happy then too much can't be wrong.

Ethan looks absolutely blissfull! Look at those lashes! What a cutie patootie you have!!! You'd think that if he was *starving* that he'd be cranky... I agree some kids are on the smaller scale... Heather's cute twiggy kids.... mine have always been so fat and chunky, they've told me sometimes to decrease the boob or whatever. Um, scuze me? Lol. Every kid is different. They all level out when they're in their teens/early adulthood anyway. But heck, Ethan might love a good faceful of sweet potatoes. ;)

He is such a tiny little thing! It's so stressful when you don't know if it's just genes or not. When your kids are little like that, it can be a little worrysome. Our doctor was always pretty laid back. But I think it's all a matter of whether or not they are growing. Even if they stay in the smallest percentile - they need to be following a consistent curve of their own. He sure looks like a happy healthy kid despite his skinny-ness. If he had failure-to-thrive, he'd look more sick and be lethargic, I would think.

Sweet Kelsey, did you really think he was going to be a chunk??? Look at your other two skinny kids, and he is all smiles. Don't worry too much, You just have small kids! Love ya!
