Welcome Home!

Finally, after many months of meetings, paint chips, floor samples, walk throughs and choices we are home. We will sign our papers and get our keys tomorrow! We will finally be able to call our house a home! My mom and I will be spending most of the day on Wednesday cleaning and painting flowers and racing strips. Then this weekend is our big moving day.

Finally the Hoskins will be home.

The time has come...

Oh my stars. Ryan and I went to the new house today for our first walk through with our foreman. We gave him a list of all of the things that needed to be finished. There were only about 20 things that we thought needed to be done, and they were really nit picky. They are having the city do their final inspection this afternoon. They started working on our list before we even walked out of the door. They are planning on having everything done by tonight, because the floor guys are coming tomorrow morning to resurface the hardwood floors and restain, so that there are no move scratches or rough spots. Our foreman said that they had to have everything done today so that when the floor guys come in they don't have to worry about anymone people on the floor. We will then have our final walk through with our agent on Thursday. We are planning on closing on Friday. It works out really well for me, because I don't have to go any where for the closing. Since Ryan is an Escrow officer he will bring all of the parpers home for me to sign. We will fund on Monday and get our keys that day too. It works out really well, because I will have all of next week to move boxes over and unpack them a little at a time, and clean up before all of the big stuff comes in on Saturday when my dad, Ryan's dad, and my brother can be there to help. So if anyone wants to come and see the house, just let me know and you are welcome!

Baseball season again

Isn't that a cute kid? Sheldon started T-ball again. He loves to be out in the sunshine and run around with the other kids. He is getting really good at it too. He hits the ball off of the tee everytime now. Last year it was about every other time he would actually make contact, but now he is much better. He loves to practice with Ryan too. Every night after dinner they are out in the back yard playing baseball. Allie loves to run after the ball and cheer for Sheldon when he runs around the bases.

So tired...

I took Sheldon and Allie to the park yesterday, and then we ran some errands. When we got home Allie went into her room and brought me her jammies and told me she was tired. I figured chasing Sheldon around the park all morning was some good exercise for her. Plus they both love to play tag. I put her in jammies, because she won't let it go until she gets in them. Afterward she told me she needed a treat. I put her in her chair, turned around to get her an apple and milk. Seconds later this is what I saw. Of course I had to get the camera before I put her in her bed. Doesn't she look so sweet?

The new house

By popular demand here are some pictures of the new Draper house. These were taken on Sunday. The house faces the south and starting with the upper right window. This is Sheldon's room. Next is the window in the vault of the entry way, the the other light wood popout is Allie's room and the little one on the far left is our master closet. The bay window that is on the front porch is Ryan's office. It has glass french doors that lead to the entry way. That way he can do late and weekend closings and not have to leave and go to the office.

It is Ryan's dream kitchen with double ovens, (the big hole in the middle of the cabinets against the far wall.) The range is a countertop range with 5 gas burners. The sink is granite and all of the appliances are stainless. My favorite part is that the dishwasher doesn't have any buttons on the outside. You have to open it to start it, which is nice to not have little fingers change the settings four or five times a day.

This last picture is of the master bathroom. This fire place is two sided so that you can see if from the master bedroom side too. Allie loves the bath tub. She says its a swimmy. You can just see the corner of the shower and then right behind Allie in the pictures is the double sink vanity and the potty.
We went to the house yesterday and they have poured the rest of the concrete driveway and put in the carpet. The whole main floor is hardwood, but Ryan's office and then up the stairs and on the whole upper floor is carpet.
We are doing our final walk through on Friday and then the city is doing their walk through on Monday. We then have 3 days to close. So it looks like we will be in before the end of the month!
